KFACC works across property ownerships to accelerate the pace and scale of restoration and for wildfire mitigation. KFACC also promotes the education of all of Kittitas County to understand the role of fire in the historical landscape and encourages all individuals to know their role to proactively live in the wildfire environment as it exists today.
In May 2017, agencies, stakeholders and community members met to express concerns for wildfire related issues in Kittitas County. Recognizing the importance of the issues of fire adapted communities, the meetings continued and the Kittitas Fire Adapted Communities Coalition (KFACC) was formed.
